Outing club plans Ausable Point trip

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Village at Will Rogers Senior Outing Club’s April event will be on Tuesday, April 30 to Ausable Point State Park.

The club plans to walk along easy paths and look for migratory birds including hawks, eagles, warblers, sparrows and more. Bring binoculars and dress for the elements. Bug spray is suggested for shoes and pants’ cuffs to avoid ticks. Lunch will be immediately following at Pasquale’s Restaurant in Peru ($8 and up).

The Saranac Village at Will Rogers Senior Outing Club is open to all seniors (ages 55 and up) interested in venturing out for moderate activity at various locations around the area. Activities are held on the last Tuesday of the month. The club’s mission is to “offer seniors the chance to enjoy outdoor adventures with companionship, safety and fun.”

Organizers recommend that participants wear good walking shoes and clothing for potentially cool or inclement weather. Departure will be from Will Rogers at 9 a.m. Call 518-891-7117 to reserve a spot for this trip.
