SARANAC LAKE — A Capital Region artist, Takeyce Walter, will speak and do a live painting demonstration at the Paul Smith’s College Visitor’s Interpretive Center on Sunday.

Walter plans to showcase her mixed media painting technique with pastels and gouache from 1 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 6. Walter’s current exhibition at the VIC’s Heron Marsh Gallery, “These Waters,” features many paintings using this process, and she’ll discuss her inspiration for the show. Aug. 6 is the last day of the exhibit. The VIC is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Takeyce is an artist, art instructor, and media producer and works primarily in oil, pastels, and gouache. Her paintings capture the unique beauty of the Adirondacks and its waterways. Her work has been exhibited regionally for the past 20 years with many private and public acquisitions, including most recently, the Adirondack Experience Museum Artist and Inspiration in the Wild permanent collection.

Walk-ins are welcome at this free event, which is being hosted by Saranac Lake ArtWorks.
