Arts and crafts for adults and kids in Blue Mountain Lake
BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE — The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts has announced its lineup of adult workshops and kids’ art activities in the 2023 season.
On Wednesdays in July and August, adults will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of classes, including painting, jewelry making and textile work. Thursday afternoons will offer kid-oriented activities such as drawing, theater games and clay sculpting. The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts is located at 3446 State Route 28, Blue Mountain Lake.
Eight weeks of adult workshop programming starts with a Paint ‘n’ Sip night on July 5 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. with Jessie Furnia. Soft drinks and snacks will be provided, and participants are welcome to bring their own alcoholic beverages.
Other daytime workshops include Georgia O’Keeffe watercolor flowers with Lauren Walker on July 12, textile plant printing with Hallie Bond on July 19, alcohol ink pendants with Susan Rollings on July 26, story boxes with Lauren Walker on Aug. 9, repouss metal insects/animals with Lauren Walker on Aug. 16 and wet-felted cobweb scarves with Susan Rollings on Aug. 23.
All daytime workshops take place from 1 to 4 p.m.
The workshop lineup concludes with Jessie Furnia’s second Paint ‘n’ Sip night on Aug. 30 from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

The Kids’ Arts Camp program will have weekly activities from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays. Activities include Georgia O’Keeffe watercolor flowers with Lauren Walker on July 6, Sacred Hearts with Lauren Walker on July 13, flower pounding with Hallie Bond on July 20, clay frames with Lauren Walker on July 27, theater games on Aug. 3, mini story boxes with Lauren Walker on Aug. 10, acrylic bird paintings with Lauren Walker on Aug. 17 and scratch-art animals with Lauren Walker on Aug. 24.
