WESTPORT — A Westport woman died from a head-on collision here Thursday afternoon.

State troopers said they responded at 3:09 p.m. to state Route 9N in the town of Westport for a two-car collision with entrapment. An investigation determined Emily P. Beaudette, 22, of Plattsburgh was driving southwest in a gray 2022 Toyota Highlander when it crossed into the oncoming lane and collided head on with a tan 2014 Toyota Camry driven by Robin Q. Dunning, 67, of Westport. Dunning was pronounced dead at the scene. Beaudette suffered minor injuries to her leg and shoulder.

Troopers issued Beaudette vehicle and traffic tickets for failing to keep right and moving from her lane unsafely. She is to appear in Westport town court in June.

The State Police Bureau of Criminal investigation, collision reconstruction unit, Westport Emergency Medical Services and local fire and rescue teams assisted with this investigation.
