LAKE PLACID — The Bookstore Plus will be participating in the 10th anniversary of Independent Bookstore Day on Saturday, April 29.

The Bookstore Plus will have exclusive items for sale and giveaways, from specialized tote bags to banned books puzzles and IBD exclusive Blackwing Pencils.

This year, the store will also have free cupcakes at 12:30 p.m. followed by local artist/illustrator, Alison Haas, in the store from 1-3 p.m. Haas will be demonstrating her own technique using pressed botanicals.

Customers can create their own botanical bird note card using pressed flowers and leaves from her collection. There will also be brand new designs of Alison’s notecards available for purchase.

Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association.
