SARANAC LAKE — The annual “Poetry Meets Art” event returns to the Hotel Saranac’s Great Hall this Friday from 6-8 pm.

In its eighth year, “Poetry Meets Art” is the culmination of a months-long effort between area poets and NorthWind Fine Arts Gallery artists creating written and visual work together. The evening features poetry readings and an art exhibit.

Award-winning gallery artists include woodturner Damon Hartman, woodcarver and jewelry maker Shawn Halperin, glass artist Angela Nephew, and painters Heidi Gutersloh, Mary Woodcock Johnson, Lee Ann Sporn, and Susan Whiteman.

The written and spoken word is represented by esteemed area poets.
