Man arrested after threatening to shoot people on his property

SARANAC LAKE — New York State Police charged Saranac Lake resident Robert J. Lavallee, 53, with making a terroristic threat — a felony — on Jan. 1 after he threatened to shoot people if they stopped on his property.

At around 7:35 a.m. Sunday, State Police responded to state Route 86 in the town of Harrietstown for a possible terroristic threat, according to Public Information Officer Brandi Ashley. An investigation determined Lavallee made numerous calls to the state dispatch call center on Dec. 27, 2022, threatening to shoot people if they stepped on his property.

Lavallee was arrested and transported to State Police barracks in Ray Brook for processing. He was arraigned in the town of Tupper Lake court and remanded to Franklin County Jail in Malone on $250 cash bail or $500 bond.
