Slice of democracy
Jeremiah Gillette casts his ballot in Tuesday’s primary election at the Harrietstown Town Hall. He was taking a break from work at Owl’s Nest Pizzeria five doors down from the polling site. No one was ordering pizzas at the time and he said he was playing Pokemon Go on his phone when he remembered it was Election Day. “I just know that the world’s crazy. We need help fixing it. This is one of the ways I can help fix it,” Gillette said. “If I can help make sure the people that I feel are going to make things better get an extra push, a little bit helps.” Election workers tried to ply a free election night pizza from Gillette when he arrived. Colleen Miner, a volunteer poll worker, had been picking away at a peanut butter and jelly sandwich she brought.
