MALONE — The University of Vermont Health Network’s Alice Hyde Medical Center announced on Wednesday that it has hired a new primary care physician.
Prabhjot Manes is the newest member of the Alice Hyde medical staff.
“As a physician I’ve held many roles, from teaching positions and administrative duties to clinical, consultative and diagnostic responsibilities,” Manes said in a statement. “As a hospitalist, I want to bring patients a sense of security and satisfaction while they are in my care; that’s what motivates me. As a primary care physician, I want to educate patients, help them make healthy choices, and ensure they get the follow-up care they need.”
Dr. Manes earned her medical and surgery degrees from Government Medical College in Amritsar, India, which is affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. She then completed her residency through Family Medicine at Brooklyn Hospital in New York, where she served on the medical staff from 2012 to 2021. Now, she is board certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Before joining Alice Hyde, Dr. Manes performed a variety of roles during her eight-year period at Brooklyn Hospital. There, she served in the hospital’s Emergency Department, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, and specialty care units including Women’s Health, Cardiology and Neurology.
According to Phillip Rau, Alice Hyde’s communications and media relations specialist, Dr. Manes also led a research team of physicians focused on patient care quality improvements, and most recently served as Brooklyn Hospital’s lead academic hospitalist and associate director of its Family Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Manes also assumed the role of associate clerkship director for St. George University in 2018, serving in a clinical instructor role educating students on topics such as disease processes, clinical and diagnostic skills and medical procedures.
Dr. Manes will be joining Dr. Paul El Azoury and Dr. Joel Cherian on the hospital’s team of hospitalist-physicians. She joins Dr. Marina Medved, nurse practitioner Brianne Jeror and physician assistant Robert Stout at Alice Hyde Primary Care.
