Motorcyclist suffers internal injuries from Route 3 crash

TUPPER LAKE — State Police have identified a motorcyclist who crashed Tuesday afternoon on state Route 3 near the Panther Mountain trailhead.

State Police Public Information Officer Jennifer Fleishman wrote in an email that the operator, Kevin A. Trombley, 59, of Lyme, in Jefferson County, had numerous internal injuries from the crash.

Police say Trombley was traveling east on a 2007 Harley-Davidson when he failed to negotiate a corner, striking the guide rail on the south shoulder. He was ejected off the motorcycle and landed approximately 24 feet down the steep earth embankment on the south side of the shoulder, with injuries.

Police responded at 2:26 p.m. The Tupper Lake rescue squad took Trombley to Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, and from there North Country Life Flight flew him to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

Fleishman said the crash remains under investigation.
