SARANAC LAKE — Outside Magazine recently listed Cycle Adirondacks’ primary bike tour, called the Ultimate Cycling Vacation, as one of its top 10 “Best Supported Bike Rides in the Country.”

Author Jonathan Olivier included the annual week-long road cycling tour among a list of nine others during an April 3 story posted on Outside Magazine’s website. Doug Haney, CycleADK’s marketing and communications specialist, said there are hundreds of other fully supported bike tours around the U.S. Olivier did not say, in his introduction to the list, how he decided to include those 10.

This is the second major honor for CycleADK, who was also awarded a Partner in Tourism award from the New York State Tourism Industry Association in 2016. Since the tour’s debut in 2015, the event has hosted over 850 guests from all over North America.

CycleADK will hold its fifth annual Ultimate Cycling Vacation Aug. 17 to 23 with overnight stays in Ticonderoga, Wilmington and Westport. Paying participants receive locally sourced meals, route, medical and mechanical support, off-bike activities and nightly free community entertainment. The event is also open to non-cycling companions.
