Whiteface, Gore, Belleayre to open Nov. 23

LAKE PLACID — All three alpine ski centers run by the state Olympic Regional Development Authority began making snow this weekend in anticipation of their season opening Friday, Nov. 23, weather and conditions permitting.

At Whiteface Mountain Ski Center in Wilmington, snow guns and fans started blanketing the Olympic mountain’s Excelsior, Summit Express, Fox and Mixing Bowl trails, ORDA said in a press release.

Farther south in the Adirondacks, Gore Mountain Ski Center in North Creek combined its snowmaking efforts eith those of the North Creek Ski Bowl. Four fans are running for nordic skiing at the Ski Bowl, and nine fans are going in the alpine resort’s base area.

Snowmakers are also busy at Belleayre Mountain Ski Resort in Highmount, in the Catskills.

Ski3 season passes cost as follows, through Nov. 26: $899 adult, $429 teen and $329 junior.
