MASSENA — The state Department of Environmen-tal Conservation will host a youth waterfowl and pheasant hunt in mid-September.

DEC environmental conservation officers have partnered with the Massena Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation to offer the program to 12- to 15-year-olds.

The educational portion of the event will take place at the Massena Rod and Gun Club on Sept. 14 at 5 p.m., followed by the waterfowl hunt on Sept. 22 and the pheasant hunt on Sept. 29. Youth must possess a small game hunting license.

The youth hunt is free and equipment can be provided if necessary.
