SARANAC LAKE – The Adirondack Health Foundation is still accepting applications for three scholarships designated for area students interested in pursuing careers in healthcare. The $3,500 scholarships will be awarded to students who have been accepted into a course of study leading to a degree in nursing or an approved allied health career.

Priority is given to candidates with a proven track record working for Adirondack Health and who are taking steps to expand their knowledge base through higher education. The scholarships are also open to new high school graduates and non-traditional students interested in careers in healthcare.

Applications are available online at bit.ly/AHFscholarships and must be received by April 15.

Qualified applicants must:

-Be full-time students taking a minimum of twelve credit hours per semester.

-Be willing to work at Adirondack Health for at least one year following graduation, if there is a position available.

-Maintain an average GPA of 3.0 or higher to be automatically eligible for a second-year scholarship.
