Dental health poster contest open to all Saranac Lake fifth grade residents

SARANAC LAKE – The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association is once again promoting Dental Health Month through its annual 5th Grader Dental Health Poster contest. Open to all year-round 5th grade students that are living within the Saranac Lake Central School District, the poster contest requires students to demonstrate the importance of dental health using an original dental health slogan and artwork.

The slogan can cover a variety of topics such as good brushing or flossing habits, healthy food options, self-confidence, or other original topics related to dental health. The poster must include some artwork to support the original slogan. Only original artwork is required; no posters will be accepted that include clipart or Google images.

“This is the fifth year that the Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association has conducted this contest through the Saranac Lake School district,” said Saranac Lake Elementary School Dental Hygienist Suzanne Snizek. “Adults are always telling children why dental health is important. This contest allows children to demonstrate to their peers the importance of dental health. We also look forward to seeing all the original artwork and slogans these kids come up with. The children always produce such unique and creative posters.”

One (1) overall winner and three runners-up will be chosen. The overall winner will be awarded a $20 gift certificate to Goody Goody’s Toys and Games in Saranac Lake and the three runners-up will each be awarded a $10 gift certificate. All winning artwork/slogan and poster will be displayed on the SLVHA Facebook page during Dental Health Month.

All entries must be received by Jan. 26, 2018. Entries can be either handed directly to Suzanne Snizek, Saranac Lake Elementary School Dental Hygienist or mailed to Suzanne Snizek, Petrova Elementary School, 79 Canaras Ave, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.

Starting at $3.92/week.
