Firefighters knock down wildland blaze

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call at 1:33 p.m. Saturday for a wildland fire near the intersection of state Routes 30 and 3. The fire covered an area of approximately 100-feet-by-100-feet. Firefighters used 4,500 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. Mutual aid was given by the Tupper Lake Volunteer Fire Department.
