WILMINGTON — A 7-foot-long brook trout was installed here Friday, completing a statue memorial to local fly-fishing legend Fran Betters.

Since last year, there were already statues of the AuSable Wulff, Bomber and Haystack fishing flies, all Fran Betters originals, on state Route 86 in Wilmington, on the northwest side of the stone bridge and dam.

Nick and Nancy Groudas of Long Island created the sculptures. The Francis Betters Memorial Statue Project was the brainchild of T.J. Swan.
