Adirondack Rural Skills and Homesteading Festival Saturday at Paul Smith’s College
PAUL SMITHS — The annual Adirondack Rural Skills and Homesteading Festival celebrates the talents of a bygone era with a distinctly Adirondack flair.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 at Paul Smith’s College.
With featured exhibitions on whole foods, farming with draft horses and a demonstration of competitive lumberjack sports by the Paul Smith’s College Woodsmen’s Team, the festival also offers dozens of workshops that appeal to a wide range of interests such as canning, cider making, woodworking, renewable energy, cordwood construction, small-scale farming and primitive skills. Check out the video of last year’s event, and don’t miss the 2017 keynote speaker Jay Gruen, host of FYI’s “Unplugged Nation.”
Cost is $5 per person or $10 per carload or free with valid Paul Smith’s College ID.
