High Peaks Hospice names new medical director

SARANAC LAKE — High Peaks Hospice announced this week that Dr. Jay Federman is its new hospice physician, covering the northern service area. He will replace Dr. George Cook who is retiring.

Dr. Federman received his medical degree from Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He is one of nine doctors at Adirondack Medical Center who specialize in family medicine. Dr. Federman graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1970. He works in Saranac Lake, and specializes in general practice and dermatology. Dr. Federman specializes in family practice, providing general medical care for pediatric through geriatric age ranges.
