Island Chapel open for summer

UPPER SARANAC — Island Chapel, located on the south end of Upper Saranac, began its summer worship season on June 25 and will continue services through September.

Boat transportation is offered every Sunday morning, as the chapel-bound pontoon boat leaves from the end of Old Dock Road off state Route 3. The first boat leaves at 10:15 a.m. and again at 10:35 a.m. Worshipers may arrive in their own boat as well. The boat driver simply drops their passengers off at the chapel dock, and then anchors off shore. A shuttle transports the driver back to the dock for the 11a.m. service.

Island Chapel is a Christian interdenominational church, offering a worshipful atmosphere throughout the summer. Inspirational speakers conduct the worship service.

Each Sunday members of the congregation are invited to sing in an impromptu choir. Worshipping at the chapel has been a unique summer experience since the mid-1800s.
