With a House vote planned today on the Republican health care bill, Rep. Elise Stefanik’s spokesman Tom Flanagin says Stefanik is ready to help implement a new system to replace Obamacare.

“Obamacare is broken. Constituents in our district continue to see double-digit premium increases,” Flanagin said. “Throughout this process, Congresswoman Stefanik has worked to have a seat at the table by co-authoring legislation to ensure that Congress lives by the same rules as everyone else. Congresswoman Stefanik has also worked to have additional funding added for maternity care and language included to reduce the Medicaid mandate on our local counties.

“A House vote would be the first part of a long legislative process working with the Senate. Congresswoman Stefanik has always advocated for repealing and replacing Obamacare with healthcare that improves quality, and accessibility and lowers costs while covering pre-existing conditions. She appreciates the work done by her colleagues to amend the legislative package to support costs for those with pre-existing conditions.”
