Franklin County announces election, voter registration and absentee instructions

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The offices that will appear on the ballot in Franklin County are as follows:

-Presidential Electors for president and vice president

-United States senator

-Justice of the Supreme Court (4th District)

-Representative in Congress (21st District)

-State Senator (45th District)

-Member of Assembly (115th District)

-County legislators

-Town Clerk – Town of Bangor

-Town Justice – Towns of Ft. Covington, Moira, Westville

-Town Assessor – Town of Constable

-Village of Malone- Trustee

-Village of Tupper Lake – Trustees

Franklin County will hold local voter registration days on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from noon to 4 p.m. in Tupper Lake at the Ivy Terrace and in Saranac Lake at the town hall, also in Malone on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 2 to 9 p.m. at the county courthouse lobby (Brewster Street entrance).

The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 8 election is Oct. 14. The last day to change enrollment is Oct. 14. The last day to submit a change of address for the November election is Oct. 19.

The deadline for absentee ballot applications by mail is Nov. 1. The deadline to vote absentee in person is Monday, Nov. 7. Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Franklin County Board of Elections will have extended office hours for absentee voting on Tuesdays, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1 from 4 to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays, Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.
