Local earns degree from W.Va. School of Osteopathic Medicine

LEWISBURG, W.Va. — Kristy M. Farmer, D.O., graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree on May 29.

She is a 2008 graduate of Saranac Lake High School and is the daughter of Joanne Farmer and Michael Farmer.

While at WVSOM, Farmer received the Student Government Association Leadership Award, the T.O.U.C.H. (Translating Osteopathic Understanding Into Community Health) Award and the Statewide Campus Outstanding Student Award. She was a member of the national honorary osteopathic service fraternity Sigma Sigma Phi, Nu Chapter.

Farmer earned a bachelor’s degree in biopsychology from Binghamton University in Binghamton in 2013.

She plans to enter a family medicine residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany.
