AuSABLE FORKS — Dr. Johnnie Wren recently joined the University of Vermont Health Network’s Elizabethtown Community Hospital to provide family medicine care at the AuSable Forks Health Center, one of the hospital’s six community-based health centers in Essex County.

She said it became clear that she wanted to stay in northern New York during her training in the UVM Health Network’s Family Medicine Residency Program.

“When I met the staff at Elizabethtown Community Hospital, I knew I had found the right place,” she said.

Wren earned her undergraduate degree at Texas Tech University and attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at the UVM Health Network’s Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh.

“Dr. Wren is a wonderful addition to our health center team and shares our passion for improving the lives of our patients and their families,” Dr. Rob DeMuro medical director for primary care at Elizabethtown Community Hospital, said in a statement.

“Connecting with patients and supporting the health of a small community are some of the things that drew me to rural family medicine,” Wren said. “It is a privilege to be able to positively impact the lives of patients and their families and one I take very seriously. I’m excited to join the Elizabethtown Community Hospital team and serve our community.”

The AuSable Forks Health Center, located at 15 Pleasant St., is open Monday through Friday. Wren is accepting new patients. To make an appointment, call 518-647-8164 or visit ECH.org.
