LAKE PLACID — Long-running Saturday Night Live cast member Kevin Nealon will perform stand-up comedy on Saturday, May 4 at 8 p.m. and ’90s rock band Crash Test Dummies will perform on Friday, May 10 at 8 p.m., both at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.

During his time on NBC’s SNL from 1986 to 1995, Nealon created some of the show’s most memorable characters, including The Subliminal Man and Hans and Franz. His recurring role as an anchor on Weekend Update helped make the sketch a show staple. Others may know Nealon best from his role in the hit Showtime series Weeds. As an Emmy and SAG-nominated actor and comedian who sets himself apart from other performers with his unique sense of humor, Nealon will bring his dry wit and likable demeanor to the stage in Lake Placid for a hilarious evening out.

It’s been over 30 years since the internationally-acclaimed, chart-breaking Canadian rock band Crash Test Dummies recorded their debut album, “The Ghosts That Haunt Me.” The album went triple platinum in Canada and the Dummies quickly went from being booked in small clubs to selling out large venues. Ghosts garnered them their first big hit, “Superman’s Song,” and a Juno Award for Group of the Year. Over three decades later, their sold out 25th Anniversary Tour for multi-Grammy nominated “God Shuffled His Feet” was proof that audiences still want to hear what they have to say.

“We knew we had to continue the party and celebrate 30 years since we made our first album. We had no idea that fans would be so enthusiastic and we are all a little gob-smacked that we can still play sold out shows to our fans and, awesomely enough, their kids,” said original member Ellen Reid.

Tickets start at $35 for both performances and can be purchased online at www.lakeplacidarts.org or by calling 518-523-2512. Tickets went on sale Thursday, Jan. 24.
