Grants will aid youth sports locally
SARANAC LAKE — Saranac Lake Kiwanis recently awarded two grants through their Kiwanis Community Sports Fund. The fund contributes to fundraising efforts for youth sports.
Adirondack Nature Festival for People with Disabilities raised about $17,500 for their second annual event at the VIC Aug. 16. The festival provides opportunities for people with disabilities, their families, friends and supporters, to connect with nature together in an environment that is as undisturbed as possible.
Saranac Lake High School varsity volleyball is determined to reclaim the Class B Section 7 title, a title they narrowly missed last year after holding it for six straight seasons. Their fundraising goal of $5,000 will purchase training equipment, personalized Red Storm gear, meals for away games and team-building activities.
Saranac Lake Kiwanis seeks new members and volunteers. Donations to the Community Sports Fund are most welcome and are tax deductible.
