LONG LAKE — The Town of Long Lake Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department welcomed Jacob “Jake” Fisch as the new events coordinator. Fisch will be leading the charge on events planning, logistics and community engagement, working closely with Director Alexandra Roalsvig and the entire parks and recreation team. Fisch will be collaborating with both Long Lake and Raquette Lake to ensure a packed calendar of year-round events for residents and visitors. His enthusiasm is infectious, and he brings fresh energy to planning and running events.
Fisch grew up in Troy and has been visiting Long Lake regularly for the last 16 years. In his new role, he’s eager to be hands-on and proactive in the community.
A classically trained stage actor and a graduate of SUNY Purchase, Fisch is no stranger to the spotlight. Now, he’s bringing that same passion and creativity to event planning.
Fisch looks forward to kicking off the summer with the 4th of July Games, Music by the Lake, the Road Rally and more surprises along the way.
Some in town might already know him as Mr. Fisch, from his time as a long-term substitute teacher at Long Lake Central School. Others know him as Coach Fisch, “that guy” or “the guy that works at Brookside Hops and Hoagies.”
Beyond events, Fisch has been actively involved in the community for over a year, helping “bring back hockey to Long Lake” through the Adirondack Local Culture Program, a youth program based out of the Mt. Sabattis Geiger Arena.
