Saranac Lake native appointed director of development at ArtsWestchester

WHITE PLAINS — ArtsWestchester has appointed Ruth Zamoyta, a Saranac Lake native, as its new director of development.

The appointment comes at a milestone moment for ArtsWestchester as it celebrates its 60th anniversary year of service to the arts and cultural community.

“Ruth Zamoyta brings to ArtsWestchester her lifelong love for the arts and 15 years’ experience in development and communications for arts non-profits and higher education,” ArtsWestchester CEO Kathleen Reckling said. “Her strategic communications and fundraising experience will serve ArtsWestchester at this critical time, positioning us well for the future.”

Zamoyta, of West New York, New Jersey, was most recently director of advancement and campaign communications for Seton Hall University, helping the advancement team set the strategy for a major comprehensive campaign. A native of both Jamaica, Queens, and Saranac Lake, Zamoyta holds degrees from St. John’s University, NYU, and Columbia University. She is an award-winning playwright and poet.
