Paul Smiths student graduates Vermont State University

RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. — Vermont State University recently announced that Diamanta Rideout of Paul Smiths is part of VTSU’s inaugural graduating class for May 2024. This diverse group of over 1,000 students hailed from more than 200 Vermont towns, over 20 states and various countries around the world.

Local students graduate from SUNY Canton

CANTON — Nearly 800 graduates received the credits necessary to graduate from SUNY Canton.

“On behalf of the entire SUNY Canton community, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for your continued success,” said SUNY Canton President Zvi Szafran. “As you step into the next chapter of your life, remember that the skills and knowledge you’ve gained at SUNY Canton will serve you well in all your future endeavors. Embrace the challenges ahead with confidence and optimism. Always strive to make a positive impact in your communities and remember that SUNY Canton will always be there to assist you in your journey.”

The college’s 116th commencement ceremony was held Saturday, May 11, in the Roos House Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center. A complete list of graduates is available on www.canton.edu.

¯ Emma L. Kielmeier of Saranac Lake earned their Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering Technology.

¯ Logan M. Dominie of Tupper Lake earned their Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering Technology.

Purchase College names Dean’s List students

PURCHASE — Purchase College announced that Jaelyn Stevens of Saranac Lake was among more than 1,300 students were named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher and taken a minimum of 12 credits. For BA and BS programs, a semester GPA of 3.50 is required. For BFA and MusB programs, a semester GPA of 3.75 is required.

University at Albany graduates announced

ALBANY — More than 4,650 students in the Class of 2024 were celebrated during UAlbany’s 180th commencement festivities. Among the graduates were an estimated 2,934 undergraduates and 1,719 graduate students, including recipients who completed their degrees during summer 2023, fall 2023 as well as winter 2024.

The graduates join the ranks of more than 200,000 UAlbany alumni worldwide.
