Local students named to RIT Dean’s List

ROCHESTER — The following students were named to the Dean’s List at Rochester Institute of Technology for the spring semester of the 2023-2024 academic year:

¯ TJ Latour of Saranac Lake, who is in the industrial design program.

¯ Nolan Savage of Tupper Lake, who is in the industrial engineering program.

¯ Haley Giroux of Lake Clear, who is in the interior design program.

Full-time degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete”, “D” or “F”; and they have registered for, and completed, at least 12 credit hours.

Locals graduate from RIT

ROCHESTER — Rochester Institute of Technology conferred nearly 4,500 degrees at all of its campuses in the 2023-2024 academic year. RIT’s academic convocation celebration was held in May and featured remarks by Patricia “Pattie” Moore, a distinguished designer and trailblazing alumna of the class of 1974.

The following local students received degrees:

¯ Noah Haverlick of Keene Valley received a BFA in film and animation.

¯ Haley Giroux of Lake Clear received a BFA in interior design.

¯ Caitlin Quinn of Keene received a BS in computational mathematics.

¯ Mike Morelli of Lake Placid received a BS in mechanical engineering.

Tupper Laker named to Oneonta Provost’s List

ONEONTA — Two hundred fifty-seven SUNY Oneonta students, including Tupper Lake’s Ava Cuttaia, earned Provost’s List honors for the spring 2024 semester. To qualify for the Provost’s List, a student must earn a perfect 4.0 grade-point average while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Saranac Lake student named to Oneonta Dean’s List

ONEONTA — More than 1,100 SUNY Oneonta students, including Lindsey McCreadie of Saranac Lake, earned Dean’s List honors for the spring 2024 semester.

Locals named to President’s List at Hudson Valley

TROY — More than 1,500 students were named to the spring 2024 President’s List at Hudson Valley Community College.

Local students include:

¯ Samuel Yourdon of Keeseville, who is studying in the non-matriculated academic program.

¯ Grace Crawford of Lake Placid, who is studying in the non-matriculated academic program.

Lo-cal students make SUNY New Paltz Dean’s List

NEW PALTZ — SUNY New Paltz recently announced its Dean’s List for the spring 2024 semester, a recognition for students who excel academically and earn at least a 3.3 grade-point average in a semester with a full-time course load.

Spotts named to University at Buffalo Dean’s List

BUFFALO — Tristan Spotts of Lake Placid was named to the University at Buffalo’s spring 2024 Dean’s List.

PLATTSBURGH — Clinton Community College’s Administrator in Charge Ken Knelly recently recognized the following students on their high academic performance during the spring 2024 semester.

Dean’s List students earned a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.749. President’s List students achieved a grade point average of 3.75 or above.

Damp named to President’s List at Plymouth State University

PLYMOUTH, NH — Marli Damp of Lake Placid has been named to the Plymouth State University President’s List for the Spring 2024 semester.

Damp is a Political Science major at Plymouth State.

Saranac Laker named to Champlain Dean’s List

BURLINGTON, Vt. — Sandra Harrison of Saranac Lake, who is majoring in Creative Media, has been named to the Champlain College Dean’s List for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the spring 2024 semester.

Gagnon earns Bachelor’s Degree from Nazareth University

ROCHESTER — Carter Gagnon of Saranac Lake graduated Cum Laude from Nazareth University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education during the 97th commencement ceremony on campus at the Golisano Training Center on Saturday, May 18.

Potsdam announces Dean’s List

POTSDAM — The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 177 students who excelled academically in the spring 2024 semester to the college’s Dean’s List.

Lily Karpp of Wilmington, whose major is Psychology, and Mary Keating of Saranac Lake, whose major is Environmental Studies, were named to the Dean’s List.
