F. P. Dorchak, formally of Lake Clear, has released his first novel in 10 years, “A Philosophy of Stars.”

“A Philosophy of Stars” is an homage to Ray Bradbury’s “The Martian Chronicles” and presents humanity’s search for a newer and better life elsewhere.

“Yet in escaping these troubles of our own creation, ‘wherever you go … there you are.’ The farther away you travel from your problems … the closer to them you actually become. It is a cautionary tale we would all do well to heed: with fantastic injustices come fantastic consequences,” a news release from the author reads.

Dorchak graduated Saranac Lake High School in 1979, graduated Northern Arizona University in 1983, and served in the U.S. Air Force for seven years in missile warning and satellite operations. He then worked for Lockheed Martin for 30 years in similar capacities, until his retirement in 2020. He and his wife, Laura, have been returning to the North Country nearly every year since he left in 1979. Dorchak and his wife live in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Starting at $4.75/week.
