SUNY Potsdam names local students to Dean’s List

POTSDAM — The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 204 students who excelled academically in the Fall 2023 semester to the College’s Dean’s List.
To achieve the honor of being on the Dean’s List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of between 3.25 and 3.49 in the given semester.
Local students included:
¯ Mary Keating, of Saranac Lake, whose major is environmental studies.
¯ Alic Rock, of Keeseville, whose major is chemistry.
¯ Makayla Young, of Keeseville, whose major is exercise science.
¯ Jonathan Zalewski, of Saranac Lake, whose major is biology.

Local students make SUNY Potsdam President’s List

POTSDAM — The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 809 students to the President’s List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Fall 2023 semester. The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Dr. Suzanne Smith.
To achieve the honor of being on the President’s List, each student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
Local students included:
¯ Jack Armstrong, of Lake Placid, whose major is music education.
¯ Olivia Bell, of Saranac Lake, whose major is graphic design and new media.
¯ Elaina Daniels, of Tupper Lake, whose major is art education.
¯ Hayley Denis, of Tupper Lake, whose major is English and creative writing.
¯ Gabe Faubert, of Saranac Lake, whose major is criminal justice studies.
¯ Abbey Gavin, of Lake Placid, whose major is childhood/early childhood education.
¯ Lily Karpp, of Wilmington, whose major is childhood/early childhood education.
¯ Logan Lavallee, of AuSable Forks, whose major is history.
¯ Tucker MacDougal, of Keeseville, whose major is chemistry.
¯ Sara Richards, of AuSable Forks, whose major is exercise science.
¯ Emma Robillard, of Tupper Lake, whose major is childhood/early childhood education.
¯ Antonio Villani, of Bloomingdale, whose major is chemistry.

SUNY Canton announces part-time honors for fall

CANTON — SUNY Canton recently recognized its part-time students for academic achievement during the fall 2023 semester.
“Your commitment to balancing multiple responsibilities while pursuing your education is truly admirable,” said SUNY Canton President Zvi Szafran. “By earning part-time honors, you have demonstrated exceptional determination and a relentless pursuit of excellence. Keep up the remarkable work, and may your academic journey continue to inspire others.”
The college created part-time honors to recognize students who earned at least a 3.25 GPA in 6 to 11 credit hours of coursework. It stands alongside the college’s Dean’s List and President’s List as one of the top awards given for academic success during a single semester.
Area students who earned part-time honors include:
¯ Jordan Carr, a finance major from Paul Smiths.
¯ Shantall M. Sweet, an applied psychology major from Tupper Lake.

SUNY Canton announces President’s List

CANTON — SUNY Canton President Zvi Szafran recently recognized local students for earning a spot on the fall 2023 President’s List.
To earn a spot on the President’s List, full-time students must earn a 3.75 or greater GPA during a single semester.
The President’s List includes the following local students:
¯ Trent T. Yourdon, a game design and development major from Keeseville.
¯ Reagan M. Levitt, a legal studies major from Lake Placid.
¯ Emma L. Kielmeier, a civil and environmental engineering technology major from Saranac Lake.
¯ Logan M. Dominie, a civil and environmental engineering technology major from Tupper Lake.
¯ Denali J. Giacovelli, an individual studies major from Tupper Lake.
