NTHS students usually have a ceremony for their induction, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, they were given their induction certificates as part of their Awards Day ceremonies June 14 and 15, celebrating students’ completion of FEH BOCES programs. Each inductees was given a purple honor stole to wear during graduation at his or her home school.
In order to be inducted into the NTHS, students had to have an 90% or better average for the last six quarters, exhibit quality attendance and receive a teacher recommendation.
“It says a lot about a student to excel in a year when so much is a challenge,” said AEC Principal Rick Swanston. “I’m incredibly proud of each National Technical Honor Society inductee for their persistence, intelligence and courage.”
The NTHS is an educational nonprofit that exists to honor, recognize and empower students and teachers in career and technical education. It serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and postsecondary chapters across the country.
FEH BOCES’ other school, North Franklin Educational Center in Malone, inducted NTHS members in April.
