Rotary Club of Saranac Lake announces 2020 scholarship winners
SARANAC LAKE — For many years, the Rotary Club of Saranac Lake has awarded two scholarships to graduating seniors from Saranac Lake High School. This year’s awardees are:
• Rosemary Crowley, who plans to attend the University of Toronto, and
• Nora Glover, who plans to attend SUNY Potsdam.
Our scholarship is named “The Rotary Community Service Scholarship.” We look for students who have demonstrated, both in and out of school, character and commitment to work with others to improve their lives and the world we all live in.
Each year the scholarships are given in honor of a Rotary past president. This year we honor Bill Plumb, who in his life and career has demonstrated dedication to superior community service. Members work diligently all year to raise funds to sponsor many worthwhile projects in our community, the scholarship program being one of them.
The Rotary Club of Saranac Lake meets every Tuesday, currently via Zoom, at 7:30 a.m., and encourages those who might have an interest to join them. Go to https://portal.clubrunner.ca/514/ for more information.
