SUNY Canton students earn degrees

CANTON – SUNY Canton is recognizing its 2019 graduates.

Among the students who graduated from SUNY Canton are:

Raquel Screnci of Lake Placid, who earned their Associate in Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant. Screnci is a 2000 graduate of Philadelphia High School For Girls.

Erik Wood of Lake Placid, who earned their Certificate in Electrical Construction & Maintenance. Wood is a 2018 graduate of Lake Placid Central School.

Linda J. Barron of Saint Regis Falls, who earned their Associate in Applied Science in Veterinary Science Technology. Barron is a 2016 graduate of Saint Regis Falls Central School.

Jacob Moore of Saint Regis Falls, who earned their Certificate in Air Conditioning Maintenance & Repair. Moore is a 2018 graduate of Saint Regis Falls Central School.

Marcan P. Dickey of Tupper Lake, who earned their Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering Technology. Dickey is a 2011 graduate of unknown.

Griffin P. Savard of Tupper Lake, who earned their Associate in Applied Science in Automotive Technology. Savard is a 2017 graduate of Tupper Lake Central School.

SUNY Canton students named to president’s list

CANTON – SUNY Canton President Zvi Szafran recognizes more than 530 students for earning president’s list honors during the spring 2019 semester.

President’s list recognizes full-time students who achieve a GPA of 3.75 to 4.0. A complete list of academic honors for the semester will be listed on the college’s website.

Students to earn president’s list honors include:

Jeanna S. Manning of Au Sable Forks, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Information Technology program.

Trevor Swinyer of Bloomingdale, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Graphic and Multimedia Design program.

Raquel Screnci of Lake Placid, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Physical Therapist Assistant program.

Jordan Carr of Paul Smiths, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Finance program.

Jacob Moore of Saint Regis Falls, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Air Conditioning Maintenance and Repair program.

Harley R. Woodruff of Saranac Lake, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Information Technology program.

Marcan P. Dickey of Tupper Lake, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Electrical Engineering Technology program.

Hannah J. Lawrence of Upper Jay, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Criminal Investigation program.

Jennifer Ward of Vermontville, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Sustainable Energy Technology program.

SUNY Canton students named to spring 2019 dean’s list

CANTON – Students are being recognized for earning dean’s list honors during the spring 2019 semester at SUNY Canton.

Dean’s list recognizes full-time students who have earned a GPA between 3.25 and 3.74. All honors are a mark of distinction and recognition of outstanding academic efforts and scholarship.

Students who earned dean’s list honors include:

Bradley M. Pray of Jay, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Criminal Investigation program.

Linda J. Barron of Saint Regis Falls, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Veterinary Technology program.

Danny Lucey of Saint Regis Falls, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Electrical Engineering Technology program.

Kimberly Collins of Saranac Lake, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Mechanical Engineering Technology program.

Matthew R. Sanderson of Saranac Lake who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Automotive Technology program.

Jayde E. Dukette of Tupper Lake, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Health Care Management program.

Reese Hoag of Tupper Lake, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Criminal Investigation program.

Griffin P. Savard of Tupper Lake, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Automotive Technology program.

Antonio Matos of Wilmington, who is majoring in the SUNY Canton Game Design and Development program.

Students named as Clarkson University Presidential Scholars

POTSDAM – The following local students have been named Presidential Scholars for the spring 2019 semester at Clarkson University:

Phillip Buck of Saranac Lake, majoring in aeronautical engineering.

Addie Friedlander of Lake Placid, majoring in biology.

Andrew Trudeau of Tupper Lake, majoring in biology.

Students named to Clarkson U. dean’s list

POTSDAM — The following local students have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester at Clarkson University:

Anna Alford of Saranac Lake, a chemical engineering major.

Randi Rondeau of Saranac Lake, a civil engineering/environmental engineering major.

Ridenour earns honors at University of Rhode Island

KINGSTON, Rhode Island – Laine Ridenour, a 2017 graduate of Lake Placid High School, has completed her spring 2019 semester with a 3.89 Cumulative GPA. She is a double major in English and French and double minor in film and digital media. She is also taking two summer 2019 term classes.

Swanson named to dean’s list at Syracuse University

SYRACUSE — Emery R. Swanson of Saranac Lake was named to the dean’s list for the 2019 spring semester at Syracuse University.

Hunt earns bachelor’s degree form Ithaca College

ITHACA – Olivia Hunt of Bloomingdale graduated with a BM in music education from Ithaca College at its May 2019 commencement.

Hebert awarded St. Lawrence U. Summer Internship Fellowship

CANTON – Aimee E. Hebert of Saranac Lake has been selected for a summer 2019 St. Lawrence University Internship Fellowship.

Hebert is a member of the Class of 2021 and is majoring in psychology.Hebert attended Lake Placid Central School. Hebert received the Stewart’s Shops and Dake Family Internship Fellowship Fund and will work as an intern for Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake.

Mader named to dean’s list at Buffalo State College

BUFFALO – Anna Mader of Saranac Lake was named to Buffalo State spring 2019 dean’s list.

Reid, Cerminara earn degrees from SUNY Oswego

OSWEGO – James E. Reid of Lake Placid completed a bachelor of arts degree in cinema and screen studies and Madelyn M. Cerminara of Saranac Lake completed a bachelor of arts degree in communication and social interaction at SUNY Oswego’s spring 2019 commencement.
