SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association congratulates the winners of its fifth annual Dental Health Slogan Flyer Contest.

As part of National Children’s Dental Health Month, the SLVHA board welcomed all full time 5th grade students living within the Saranac Lake School district to submit an original slogan and poster regarding the importance of good dental health. The judges were given the difficult task to choose one overall winner and three runners-up from the submitted entries.

“The students were productive and put a lot of thought into the slogan process and their designs,” says Saranac Lake Central School dental hygienist Suzanne Snizek. “They all had to think about the importance of dental health and how it relates to them. They were then able to demonstrate that through their design and slogan.”

The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association awarded the grand prize gift certificate from Goody Goody’s to Meadow Brown, Bloomingdale Elementary School with a slogan of Brush 2 Times! Runners-up are Rayona Leipzig of Petrova Elementary, Colin Francis and Lillie Chamberlain of St. Bernard’s School.

“February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and these posters not only show that these students know what it takes to have a healthy smile, but can be used to help educate younger students on the importance of good dental health. All the entries were excellent and I encourage people to check out the work of these creative children.”
