Tupper volleyball collects first win

TUPPER LAKE — The Tupper Lake volleyball team picked up its first win of the season Monday with a 3-0 victory over Brushton-Moira. The Lumberjacks won by scores of 25-14, 25-20 and 25-17.

Caydence Tyo filled the stat sheet for the Lumberjacks, racking up 60 assists, 43 sets, 11 service points, three aces and three kills. London Tyo contributed 16 points, five aces and four kills, Sierra LaValley had six points, six kills, 10 digs and three aces and Gavin Arey chipped in four points, one ace and one kill.

Destiny Snyder led the way for Brushton-Moira with nine service points.

Tupper Lake improved to 1-5 overall (1-3 in Northern Athletic Conference) with the victory. The Panthers are 0-6 overall and 0-5 in NAC matches.

BOYS SOCCER

Seton Catholic 2, Saranac Lake 0

PLATTSBURGH — The Seton Catholic boys soccer team scored both its goals in the second half on the way to a 2-0 Northern Soccer League victory over Saranac Lake on Monday.

Nate Boule scored the game’s first goal 4:35 into the second half and Logan Frenya gave the Knights more of a cusion with his goal eight minutes later.

Seton Catholic outshot the Red Storm 15-7, with Saranac Lake goalkeeper Zach Churco recording nine saves. Seton goalie Tyler Reid earned the shutout after stopping three shots.
