Stevenson series brings back sweet reminders

To the editor:

I would like to thank Mike Delahant for his wonderful series on Robert Louis Stevenson. When I was a child, my mother would take my sister and me for walks over to his cottage. She read his poems and stories to us. I grew up a huge fan of RLS. When my son was little, I read him the poems and stories. He was here visiting recently, and I showed him and his family the Stevenson cottage and museum. He was very excited about it and wants to come back when it’s open. Shortly after, “The Land of Counterpane” poem was in the next week’s paper. It was my son’s favorite, so I tore that page from the paper and mailed it to him. He loved it and typed it out on Facebook, saying how it had been his favorite and that he’d just seen the cottage. So Mike, you made my son very happy for a sweet reminder of his childhood (and mine). I thank you for that, and thank you for publishing this wonderful series.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Zahn
