Grateful for Will Rogers, Elderwood

To the editor:

The leaves have gone. We have had our first snowstorm. I worry about senior citizens living alone in the winter. So much to worry about.

Why not think of going to Will Rogers for the winter? No shoveling snow. No grocery shopping. Everything is done for you: meals, laundry, cleaning. It’s a beautiful place to live. One of the saddest days of my life was when I closed the door to my apartment for the last time. I knew I was leaving my home and family because all the other residents are like family. Unfortunately I became ill and needed more help. Elderwood of Uihlein had an opening and accepted me.

With the holidays coming, the staff at Will Rogers decorate the place. Beautiful. Have fires in the fireplace. Think about it. Call Jamie.

Here at Elderwood at Uihlein it is the same. I feel safe. Staff is very respectful and caring. I say it’s like neighbors taking care of neighbors. I have made lots of new friends and met old ones here.

Not one of the staff is too busy to help you if you need it. Housekeeping, maintenance, and the kitchen are great. Nurses, CNAs and office help are great. Lots of activities to do. Physical therapy available if you need it. My family doesn’t have to worry.

We are so fortunate to have these two facilities in our area. Think about it.

Happy holidays,
