Thank you, Tri-Lakes Humane Society

Many thanks go to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society for 75 years of conscientious service to this area’s animals and the humans who care about them. We can attest that this no-kill shelter’s five paid staffers and 20 active volunteers are kind, knowledgeable and hard working. They do a truly wonderful job without making much of a fuss about it. We hope they keep up the good work.

Meanwhile, you can help. One way, if you have a bit of time, it to volunteer, perhaps walking the dogs or playing with them. Another way is to adopt a pet. The shelter has reduced its adoption fee from $80 to $25 for the month of December. All pets are spayed, vaccinated, tested for heartworm and leukemia, and even microchipped. As of last week, there were 75 cats and 15 dogs to choose from.

You can find the Tri-Lakes Humane Society at 255 LaPan Highway (state Route 3) in Saranac Lake, online at or on their page.
