Irene Prinz passed away on Dec. 9, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on Nov. 18, 1934, to Karl and Frieda Leinemann in Woltorf-Kreis-Peine, Germany.
In 1955, Irene arrived in New York City and started her modeling career. In 1963, she met her future husband Wilhelm “Willie” Prinz. They were married in New York City in 1969.
Friends from New York City moved to Lake Placid and the Prinzes later chose Lake Placid as an ideal place to live and create a business.
In 1975, Irene and Willie acquired the Fagan’s Motel, which they later named the Town and Country Motor Inn and successfully operated a friendly and accommodating location for 27 years.
After retiring in 2002, the couple spent the winters in their condo in Naples, Florida, and their summers at their home in Lake Placid.
Irene is survived by her beloved husband Willie Prinz and her twin sisters Erla and Kaethe, and many nieces and nephews, all living in Germany.
Irene was predeceased by her sister Christa.
