T. Mark Capone

T. Mark Capone, 83, passed away peacefully at home in Syracuse on Sunday, June 4, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He is predeceased by his sons Timothy James Capone and David Thomas McCue.
Mark is survived by the love of his life, Patricia McCue; his children Cynthia Capone (Scott) Baerman, Judy Capone and Jeannie (Larry) Wood; his brother Phil (Barb) Capone; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to being an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Mark was a man of real and tested social conscience. His desire to share with those who had much less was genuine, demonstrated by his love of Unity Acres, for which he served as a board member and contributor for decades. His care extended to the homeless and sick. Mark was an avid reader of theology and aware of world politics and the Church. His ability to cut through difficult problems was apparent to many, both personally and professionally. He had a great sense of humor, and during challenging times would be able to bring a smile. Even as his mental and physical health declined, he continued to be willing to be of service to the Catholic Workers on Wheels and Unity Acres, and would deflect any praise, given to him, unto others.
Calling hours were held Friday, June 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. The funeral Mass, led by the Rev. Tim Matthews, was on Saturday, June 10 at St. Lucy’s Church, 432 Gifford St. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Catholic Workers on Wheels, Friends of Dorothy or Unity Acres.
