SARANAC LAKE — A local man employed by the village died in a one-car crash on Saturday morning.

Dylan Hall, who had worked for the village Department of Public Works for three or four years as a mechanical equipment operator, died as a result of a crash on state Route 86 north of the village, near Tissot Construction.

“He was a great employee,” said village DPW Superintendent Jeff Dora. “He was very conscientious of everything he did. He was proud to serve the community.”

The village fire department was called to the scene at 6:27 a.m. Saturday and didn’t return to service until 10:15 a.m. Franklin County Coroner Ron Keough confirmed that someone died in the crash. Both referred questions to State Police, but the Troop B spokesperson was unavailable to provide more information by press time.
