SL arts-culture plan meeting is Wednesday

SARANAC LAKE — The public will have a chance to hear the preliminary recommendations from the Saranac Lake Arts and Culture Master Plan at a public meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Cantwell Room of the Saranac Lake Free Library.

AMS Planning and Research’s presentation will analyze the current state of arts and culture in Saranac Lake, which have been identified as important societal and economic assets to the village, and what can be done to facilitate growth in these areas.

The group noticed music, theater, visual arts and movies gained more attraction and attendance, while comedy, culinary arts and literature were less sought after and less available.

Attendees will hear AMS’s findings and make suggestions before the group completes their master plan in February, which will be used to to guide priorities for grant applications and local investment.
