Man charged in heroin overdose
SARANAC LAKE — At 3:21 p.m. Oct. 5, village police charged David J. Corker, 40, of Saranac Lake with criminal nuisance in the first degree, relating to a fatal drug overdose that took place in September.
Police charge that Corker allowed persons to gather in his premises for the purpose of selling and using heroin, and that he did engage in using and selling heroin. A person there, whose name has not been released, did ingest a fatal dose of heroin. Police allege that Corker made no attempt to call for emergency services.
The charges result from an ongoing narcotics investigation being conducted by the Saranac Lake Police Department. The defendant was processed and released to appear in Harrietstown town court at a later date.
