Don’t drop sign

The Dew Drop Inn sign is removed Sunday at 27 Broadway in Saranac Lake, part of the building’s ongoing renovation. Co-owner Calli Shelton has begun a GoFundMe page where people can donate to help restore the sign, which she says was installed in 1950 or ’51 after Forrest “Dew Drop” Morgan opened the restaurant and bar in 1947. Shelton says she would like to restore the sign and hang it inside the new restaurant, which would be called 27 Broadway, but “we need a little help” with the $22,000 estimated restoration cost.
