SARANAC LAKE – The Adirondack Daily Enterprise has announced its Tri-Lakes Job Fair will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 at the gym at North Country Community College.
There will be representation from businesses and agencies offering hundreds of positions from summer jobs to careers in the medical field.
“It is a great opportunity for high schools and college students, as well as adults looking for a new career or just a change from their present position, to come and apply to the numerous positions available,” Enterprise Publisher Catherine Moore said.
Saranac Lake Rotary Club members will be on hand to help review and give tips on resumes. Rotarian Mary Brown will also offer mock interviews with suggestions on how to make a good impression during an interview.
Applicants are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes to be reviewed by the Rotary, as well as to hand out to potential recruiters.
Last year’s sponsor North Country Community College held the event in the Connector building, but this year it will be moved to the gym known as the Sparks Sports Complex. A survey was done by Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s Executive Director Johnny Muldowney after last year’s job fair. Comments received have made improvements for this year’s fair, including that more space was needed for tables and displays, therefore the gym is the new location.
As the job fair ends, a network mixer will begin at 4 p.m. at the same location, hosted by the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. This will be an opportunity to meet and greet area businesses and employers.
“Last year appeared to be the largest job fair I had seen in the Tri-Lakes, so this year we expect it will grow even larger.” said event planner Lindsay Munn.
Sponsors of the Adirondack Daily Enterprise’s Tri-Lakes Job Fair are North Country Community College, Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, Saranac Lake Rotary Club, Tupper Lake Chamber of Commerce and ROOST (Regional Office of Sustainable Tourism).
Employers are encouraged to reserve now to sign up for the job fair by calling Lindsay Munn at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise at 518-891-2600 ext. 20.
