LAKE PLACID — Engel & Volkers Lake Placid Real Estate recently announced that Kieren J. Emery has joined its real estate brokerage sales team as a real estate advisor to service the Thousand Islands region.

Emery’s family has deep roots in the Thousand Islands and St. Lawrence Seaway going back multiple generations. Emery comes to Engel & Volkers Lake Placid from Engel & Volkers Los Cabos, where he works with both buyers and sellers specializing in properties in Mexico.

Emery and his partner have a deep appreciation for the uniqueness of the natural setting of the River and Islands, as well as the flourishing and growing river community.

“We are very excited to expand our real estate services in upstate New York from the Adirondack Park to the Thousand Islands region. Kieren is already a seasoned real estate advisor with our global brand and his passion for the River and desire to share his knowledge and expertise is a winning combination,” said Colleen Holmes, real estate broker/owner of Engel & Volkers Lake Placid.

Emery is a member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department, and is involved with both the Antique Boat Museum and the Thousand Islands Land Trust. Emery is an avid golfer, pickleball and tennis player. Emery grew up in the United Kingdom, attended the University of Durham, and became a competitive rower at a young age, going on to become part of the British Olympic Rowing Team, for whom he carried the torch during the 2012 London Olympics. He won six world medals, including four as a World Champion. After moving to the U.S., Emery served as the head coach of the Lightweight Women’s Crew Team at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. for six years.
