Section VII soccer playoff schedule announced

While the Section VII boys and girls soccer season has officially wrapped up, the playoff schedule was announced on Monday morning.
In the girls Class D playoffs, the No. 3 Lake Placid girls soccer team will host No. 6 Indian Lake/Long Lake at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. If the Blue Bombers win that contest, they will compete against the winner of No. 2 Chazy and No. 7 Keene in the semifinal round on Monday, Oct. 27.
The Section VII, Class D girls championship game will be held at Plattsburgh High School at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Boquet Valley is the top seed in the girls tournament; however, the Blue Bombers defeated both the No. 1 and 2 seeds during the regular season.
The Saranac Lake girls, who compete in Section VII, Class B, will travel to Picketts Corners on Friday to take on the top-seeded Saranac Central Spartans at 6 p.m. in the sectional semifinal game. The Red Storm are the fourth seed in the tournament.
In the other semifinal contest, No. 2 Northeastern Clinton will take on No. 3 AuSable Valley at the same time. The winners of the two contests compete in the sectional championship game at 5 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Beekmantown High School.
In the boys Class B playoff, No. 3 Saranac Lake will also take on Saranac Central, which is the No. 2 seed, at 1 p.m. on Saturday in the semifinal round. The winner will compete in the Section VII, Class B championship game at Beekmantown High School at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30. The Northeastern Clinton Cougars are the top seed. The Red Storm lost to the Cougars 1-0 in overtime during the regular season.
In the Class D playoffs, the No. 4 Lake Placid boys will host No. 5 Seton Catholic at 3 p.m. Thursday. The winner of that contest will play either perennial powerhouse and top-seeded Chazy or the No. 8 Indian Lake-LongLake/No.9 Crown Point on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
On the other side of the bracket, No. 7 Keene will host No. 10 Willsboro in the preliminary round at 3 p.m. today. If Keene wins, the team will take on No. 2 Schroon Lake at 3 p.m. in the quarterfinal round on Thursday. The Section VII, Class D championship game will be held at Plattsburgh High School at 11 a.m. on Nov. 1.
