PAUL SMITHS — The first-ever Roundin’ Regis Regatta paddling race was held on Sunday, building on the legacy of the former St. Regis Invitational, which ceased during the coronavirus pandemic.

As its name suggests, the 8-mile course is a loop, beginning on Lower St. Regis Lake with paddlers racing into Spitfire and then to Upper St. Regis Lake, before a one-mile overland carry back to the west shore of Lower St. Regis Lake, with paddlers heading east across the lake to finish where they started.

The results are below. They are ordered by overall finish time, and are not differentiated by boat type. Note that there were various classes and calibers of boats in the race, including one, two and four-person canoes, one and two-person kayaks, pack canoes and sprint canoes, with recreational, stock and open racing grade boats.

The results are comprised of individual names of people paddling solo, individual names of one person on a team (with that standing for the team’s name) and team names.
